The people! On interview day it felt more like conversations with all acquaintances rather than interviews; everyone showed genuine investment in fostering any aspirations or interests listed in my application. Once you walk in the ED, everyone wants to pull you in for an interesting case or procedure; it really makes you feel like you are the center of the “universe” which makes learning easy and fun. Diversity was a plus; due to the size of the state, there is proximity to both the inner city and the suburbs which brings together a diverse group of patients from all socioeconomic and racial/ethnic backgrounds
